31 October 2011: The Department of Energy and Climate Change has today announced a review of feed in tariffs for solar photovoltaic installations. The main headline is a proposal to reduce the small scale retrofit tariff from the current 43.3p to 21p per kW for installations after 12 December 2011. Although a reduction in the tariffs has been expected from April 2012, the biggest surprise has been the proposed date for reduction of the tariff. Starfish Communities has written to Chris Huhne expressing its concern that the proposals will jeopardise, if they have not done already, numerous retrofit schemes in the social housing sector proposed to reduce fuel poverty.
