On 29th January 2010 YGI Construction and Maintenance achieved Microgeneration Certification Scheme accreditation for the installation of renewable technologies. Martin Gerrelli who is MD of Starfish Communities was employed as a consultant to help YGI achieve this milestone. This was uniquely achieved with no non conformances and Gary Dakin, Training, Health & Safety and Environment Manager said “The guidance and support given by Martin and his team was very clear and concise.
He helped us to create the systems and processes and he even supported us on the day of the audit, which proved to be very valuable. We are delighted to be MCS approved and this now gives our business an opportunity to help our clients createfurther scope for reducing carbon”


The MCS certification was assessed by NICEIC and administered by Gemserv.
On 28th January 2010 Martin Gerrelli presented to the Carbon Action Network executive team about the need for a back to basics strategy to make renewable technologies more accessible to the UK population. A copy of the presentation is attached for your perusal.
On 10th December 2009 Martin Gerrelli, Managing Director of Starfish Communities Limited delivered a presentation to the East Midlands Carbon Action Network regarding strategies to “green up” existing homes and improve the efficiency of new build to significantly reduce carbon usage and enhance quality of life for householders by tackling issues including (but not limited to) fuel poverty.
